Job summary

Army Healthcare seeks a General Surgeon to join the U.S. Army Medical Department. You will examine, diagnose, consult, and treat Soldiers and families, while performing surgeries and advancing medical knowledge through education and collaboration with peers.

You will participate in ongoing professional development, specialized training, and leadership opportunities, serving in active duty or reserve roles with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be a physician with an MD or DO from an accredited U.S. medical school.
• Must hold a current license to practice medicine in the United States, DC or Puerto Rico.
• Must be eligible for board certification in general surgery.
• Must have completed at least one year of GME internship and training in general surgery.

Responsibilities

• Examine, diagnose, consult, and prescribe treatment for Soldiers, retirees and their families.
• Perform surgical procedures as a General Surgeon on the Army health care team.
• Engage in continued education, trainings, seminars and leadership development.
• Contribute to research, innovation and pre-/post-op planning with 3-D models and regenerative medicine.
