Job summary

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Officers serve as the frontline federal officers safeguarding borders and enforcing immigration, customs and related laws. The role offers stable full-time employment with base pay at multiple grades (GS-5, GS-7, GS-9) and potential advancement to GS-11/GS-12, plus federal benefits.

Starting salaries range widely depending on grade, with additional earning potential from overtime (up to $45,000) and recruitment incentives up to $15,000 per year when selecting

Qualifications

GS-5/GS-7/GS-9 grade levels with promotion potential to GS-11/GS-12.
Experience and/or education requirements as described for each grade.

Responsibilities

Enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws and regulations.
Inspecting individuals and conveyances.
Determining admissibility of individuals for entry into the United States.
Preventing illegal entry and smuggling of contraband.
