Qualifications

• GS-5 requires 3 years of general experience or education substitution as a bachelor’s degree, or a combination of experience and education.
• GS-7 requires 1 year of specialized experience, or equivalent education/substitution.
• GS-9 requires 1 year of specialized experience or equivalent education/substitution.

Responsibilities

• Enforces customs, immigration, and agriculture laws and regulations.
• Ensures flow of legitimate trade and travel.
• Conducts inspections of persons and conveyances.
• Determines admissibility of individuals for entry into the United States.
• Works to prevent illegal entry of people and contraband.
