Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers safeguard U.S. borders, enforcing laws on entry, trade and travel. The role spans GS-5 to GS-9 levels with potential advancement to GS-11/GS-12, and includes substantial benefits, overtime pay, and a robust retirement plan.

Selected officers may receive location-based incentives and a comprehensive benefits package, with ongoing training at federal facilities. This is a full-time federal position in numerous duty locations across the United States.

Formación

• KSAOs include CBP laws, regulations and procedures.
• Ability to perform inspections and enforcement duties at borders.
• KSAOs cover interviewing, searching, stopping and risk assessment.

Responsabilidades

• Enforce customs, immigration and agri-law and regulations.
• Oversee flow of legitimate travel and trade.
• Inspect individuals and conveyances for admissibility.
• Determine eligibility for entry into the United States.
• Prevent illegal entry and contraband smuggling.
