Job summary

Affirm is seeking a software engineer to contribute to the Marketplace and App Experience, collaborating across web and mobile platforms. You will break down projects, deliver in phases, and work with product management, design and analytics to balance constraints.

You will design, develop and ship APIs at scale using Kotlin or Python, own code quality, participate in code reviews, and grow with a remote-first team across the country.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1.5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience shipping web apps with declarative UI frameworks (React or Vue).
• Experience shipping mobile apps with React Native or similar.
• Experience designing, developing and launching APIs at scale (Kotlin or Python).
• Ability to turn simple problems into multi-component solutions with clear, well-tested code.
• Comfort debugging a large codebase and reviewing others' code.

Responsibilities

• Break down large projects into tasks and deliver in phases.
• Collaborate with product management, design & analytics in ideation and trade-off decisions.
• Support operations and availability of team artifacts; monitor metrics and on-call efforts.
• Contribute to team community and growth through interview processes.
