Job summary

The Inn at Little Washington in Virginia seeks a Front of House team member to participate in daily operations and deliver a 5-Star, 5-Diamond dining experience. Maintain all service areas and the dining room, acting as an ambassador of the establishment.

Essential responsibilities include mentoring staff, addressing dinner-service issues, and collaborating across Kitchen, Front Desk, Housekeeping, Valet, and Maintenance to ensure exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Well-groomed and well-presented with no visible tattoos.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Intermediate wine knowledge.
• Open to working holidays and weekends.
• Familiarity with Forbes Standards.
• Ability to communicate in a language other than English, preferably Spanish or French.
• Certification in alcohol awareness program.
• Prior experience with Resortssuite and Tock.
• Advanced wine knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Can function as MOD on any given night.
• Mentor staff and train colleagues on new roles.
• Identify problems that arise in dinner service and take corrective action.
• Master the Kitchen department, including expediting and cooking technique knowledge.
• Front desk: billing guest charges and understanding resort suite functions.
• Housekeeping: prepare rooms, locate amenities, and restock as needed.
• Valet: parking cars (EVs) and guiding guests to local attractions.
• Maintenance: locate and replace bulbs and coordinate with maintenance staff.

SUMMARY

Participate in daily Front of House operations todeliver a 5-Star, 5-Diamond, 2-Michelin Star experience to all guests. Maintainall aspects of the service areas and dining room. Serves as the ambassador ofthe establishment.

Essential Functions

• Can function as MOD on any given night
• Has taken on a mentorship role with new staffmembers - and has successfully trained a staff member on new roles orinformation
• Able to successfully identify problems that arisepertaining, but not limited to, dinner service, and can take proper correctiveaction
• Possess a mastery of different departments such as:
• Kitchen- Can successfully act as an expediter and has a masterful understanding ofcooking techniques and terms
• Frontdesk - Understands precisely how to bill guests and the many ways of billing,as well as having a masterful knowledge of resort suite functions
• Housekeeping- Can successfully turn down a room, locate and supply a roll-a-way bed, andother room amenities (toothpaste, pillows, etc.)
• Valet- Knows how to and where to park cars, such as electric vehicles, and cansuccessfully drive a manual vehicle. Can effectively direct guests to localattractions
• Maintenance- Can successfully locate and change any light bulb (that does not require anelectrician). Knows the names of our maintenance employees and can successfullyobtain assistance from them when needed

QUALIFICATIONS

Required
