Guthrie Vestal Specialty Eye Care is seeking a dedicated Patient Service Specialist for our Vestal, NY location. You will handle welcoming patients, scheduling appointments, and verifying patient information to ensure smooth front-desk operations.

The role emphasizes exceptional customer service in a fast-paced ophthalmology practice with annual benefits, PTO, and growth opportunities. Weekend or travel duties may occur as needed.

Qualifikationen

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from Medical Office Assistant school preferred.
• Experience in a fast-paced customer service environment is beneficial.
• Comfortable with computers and learning new applications.

Aufgaben

• Greet patients in a courteous, professional, and timely manner.
• Answer telephones according to standards; screen calls and take messages.
• Schedule and maintain patient appointments electronically; verify demographics.
• Register patients and review/verify insurance information.
• Verify eligibility for major insurance carriers and assist with forms/pre-certifications.
• Explain and collect copayments, deductibles, deposits, or balances at registration.
• Handle daily cash-out and balancing per policy.
• Liaise between patients, physicians, and staff and inform about delays.
• Follow policies and participate in meetings/huddles as required.
• Prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment within a team.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant confidentiality and assist with quality initiatives.
• Support other duties as assigned.
