Job summary

EyeCare Partners in Pelham, AL seeks a Front Office Specialist to be the first contact, setting the tone for a world class Total Patient Experience. You will handle check-in/out and essential administrative duties to keep the patient flow smooth.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year in a medical-office role, strong customer service, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. HIPAA compliance and a professional demeanor are required; some travel to other locations may be needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in a position interacting with customers/patients or the equivalent combination of education and experience
• Preferred: medical office experience, optometry/ophthalmology background is a plus
• Must pass background check as required by state and provide proof of identity/work eligibility

Responsibilities

• Embrace Total Patient Experience to build relationships with patients and deliver great service
• Provide exceptional customer service during every patient encounter (in person or by phone)
• Greet patients promptly with a smile and thank them when they leave
• Answer phones and ensure courteous service at all times
• Handle insurance authorizations and ensure accurate flow sheets
• Check out patients and collect payments according to procedures
• Manage patient flow and communicate to maximize efficiency and service
• Complete daily reconciliations and cash handling
• Comply with company policies including HIPAA
• Perform general office duties as assigned
