Job summary

Florida Kidney Physicians (FKP) is seeking a compassionate Front Office Medical Assistant to join our clinical team in Jacksonville. You will handle patient greeting, intake, insurance verification, and basic clinic tasks, supporting providers and ensuring smooth front-office operations.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, medical assistant certification, BLS, and familiarity with athenaClinicals and MS Office.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited program.
• Current BLS certification preferred; must obtain within 90 days.
• 1 year of experience preferred in a medical office setting.
• Ability to perform basic patient data entry in athenaClinicals.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors in a professional, welcoming manner.
• Obtains and organizes insurance cards, licenses, referrals, and documents.
• Performs demographic/insurance validation and explains privacy policies.
• Communicates delays and assists patient comfort as needed.
• Collects co-pays and reconciliations; processes batches daily.
• Maintains clean, organized reception and waiting areas.
• Schedules appointments per policy; prepares exam and treatment rooms.
• Prepares and administers medications as directed; performs basic EKGs.
• Obtains medical histories and provides medication/diet instructions.
• Answers phones and supports front-office operations.
