Job summary

Burlington Stores in Brooklyn Center, MN is seeking a Shortage Control Associate to protect our stores, deter theft, and deliver outstanding customer service. You will monitor entrances, high‑risk areas, and assist customers with confidence and courtesy to create a safe shopping experience.

You will greet every customer, demonstrate knowledge of shortage reduction programs, report suspicious activity to the Manager on Duty, and participate in training.

Qualifications

• 1+ years in customer service, hospitality, retail, asset protection, loss prevention, or operations.
• Able to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Strong communication and leadership to support team relationships.

Responsibilities

• Monitor store entrances and high-risk areas to deter theft.
• Greet customers with confident, friendly interactions.
• Identify suspicious activity and report to Manager on Duty.
• Support training on shortage reduction programs.
• Work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
