Job summary

State and Lake Chicago Tavern at theWit Hotel in Chicago, IL seeks a SLCT Supervisor to oversee front-of-house operations across breakfast, lunch, dinner, and events. You will lead the service team, coach staff, and serve as a primary guest contact for concerns and service recovery.

You will coordinate host, server, bar, and support staff, ensuring warm, polished service and adherence to brand standards in a bustling, high-volume setting.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant supervisory or lead server/lead host experience required.
• Strong knowledge of front-of-house operations and basic food & beverage service techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to motivate and coach.
• Proficiency with POS systems, basic reporting, and standard office applications.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily front-of-house operations to ensure guest-focused service.
• Lead pre-shift meetings outlining specials, reservations, and priorities.
• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training of FOH staff.
• Monitor performance and coach staff; support management with performance reviews.
• Assist with scheduling, station rotations, and break compliance.
