Job summary

TheWit Hotel is seeking a Busser for the State & Lake Chicago Tavern inside the hotel. You will support servers, carry trays, and keep dining areas clean to ensure a premium guest experience in a fast-paced setting.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in hospitality, possess TIPS/ServSafe, and show strong organizational skills with a professional demeanor. Evening and weekend shifts are required in this 24/7 hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in a high-volume restaurant or hospitality environment.
• TIPS and ServSafe certifications required.
• Fluent English communication skills with a professional and polished demeanor.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to set and clear tables efficiently without breakage.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
• Must maintain professional appearance and proper uniform standards at all times.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts in a 24/7 hotel environment.
• Must be available Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays.

Responsibilities

• Assist servers with food and beverage service in a professional, organized, and timely manner.
• Run food and carry trays safely and efficiently throughout the restaurant.
• Clear, clean, and reset tables according to restaurant standards.
• Provide water and beverage service while maintaining attentive table service.
• Complete opening, closing, and side work duties as assigned.
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and health code standards throughout the outlet.
• Deliver exceptional guest service aligned with Four Diamond hospitality standards.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house team members to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain composure and professionalism in a high-volume restaurant environment.
• Support a collaborative “Whatever It Takes” team culture.
