Job summary

University Hospital in Newark, NJ is seeking a Lead Retail Services Worker to support front-of-house operations, manage cash/charge reporting, train staff, and drive customer satisfaction while pursuing revenue goals.

You'll ensure a patient-centered, friendly environment across retail venues, coordinate daily workflows, monitor inventory, and maintain compliance with policies. Prior cashier experience and ServSafe certification are required, with barista skills a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Three years of experience in a high-volume food establishment.
• ServSafe Protection Certificate required or obtained within 6–12 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered service in a friendly, welcoming environment.
• Communicate clearly and respond to complaints; resolve issues promptly.
• Organize work processes to meet customer needs and achieve service targets.
• Maintain quality services in Retail Food Venues.
• Oversee daily operations/inventory and support sales goals.
• Maintain accurate cash handling records and daily assignments.
• Assist in performance improvement and regulatory compliance initiatives.
• Follow University Hospital policies and adjust to changes.
