theWit Hotel in Chicago is seeking a Host to be the first point of contact for guests in the State and Lake Chicago Tavern. You will manage reservations, coordinate seating, and ensure a smooth dining experience, reflecting the energy and service excellence of the restaurant and hotel.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses strong communication and organizational skills, and is passionate about hospitality.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in hospitality or customer service preferred.
• Experience as a Host, Server, or similar role preferred.
• Excellent English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome guests on arrival.
• Manage reservations and seating assignments.
• Answer calls regarding reservations and wait times.
• Maintain dining area flow and monitor table status.
• Provide accurate wait times and ensure guest comfort while waiting.
• Seat guests promptly and accommodate special requests.
• Keep dining area clean, organized and welcoming.
• Assist servers and management with front-of-house tasks.
• Handle guest concerns professionally and escalate when needed.
• Maintain knowledge of menu, specials, and events.
