Job Title: Front Medical Receptionist

Location: Knoxville, TN

Job Type: Full-Time -Tues - Fri 7:00 am - 5:30 pm

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and personable Front Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere while performing administrative tasks to support the smooth operation of our medical practice. You will play a crucial role in providing excellent customer service, managing patient interactions, and supporting our medical staff.

Key Responsibilities:

- Greet and check in patients in a professional and friendly manner.
- Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently.
- Answer incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to the appropriate staff.
- Maintain patient records with accuracy, including data entry and updating of patient information.
- Collect co-payments and process insurance information as necessary.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments.
- Assist in the management of medical records while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Coordinate referrals and follow-up appointments as needed.
- Communicate effectively with medical staff and other departments to ensure continuity of care.
- Handle any patient complaints or issues in a professional and empathetic manner.
- Perform general office duties, including filing, scanning, and maintaining a clean and organized reception area.
- Assist with any additional administrative tasks as needed by the management team.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in healthcare administration or related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with medical software systems.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism.
