Job summary

Meijer is seeking a front-line Asset Protection team member in Michigan to ensure customer safety and deter theft. You will actively engage with customers, respond to alerts, and maintain awareness of store activity to recover unpaid merchandise and resolve alarms.

The role requires strong communication, ability to move throughout the store, and skill in negotiation and de-escalation to protect people and property. Weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of customer service or asset protection experience.
• Clear and professional written and oral communication.
• Ability to move throughout the work area for long periods.
• Ability to respond to alerts quickly and urgently.
• Able to learn and interact with new technology solutions.
• Ability to document incidents with technology.
• Ability to apply negotiation and de-escalation techniques.
• Knowledge of product locations to direct customers.
• Ability to work with conflict.

Responsibilities

• Actively identify and quickly resolve unsafe conditions and situations.
• Prevent theft through active presence and engagement with customers entering and exiting.
• Respond to alerts urgently to check receipts, recover unpaid merchandise, and resolve alarms.
• Reduce store disruption following de-escalation techniques.
• Document and communicate theft, safety, and alarm activity incidents.
