Job summary

Meijer Inc. in Michigan is seeking an Asset Protection Team Member to actively deter theft and keep customers and associates safe at the front and throughout the store. This role emphasizes vigilance, safety and customer service in a busy retail environment.

You will engage with customers, assist with alarms, validate receipts when needed, and document incidents using professional communication. A background in customer service or asset protection is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of customer service experience or asset protection experience.
• Clear and professional written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to move throughout the work area for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Actively identify and quickly resolve unsafe conditions and situations.
• Prevent theft through an active presence and engagement with customers entering and exiting.
• Respond to alerts urgently to check receipts, recover unpaid merchandise, and resolve alarms.
• Reduce store disruption following de-escalation and negotiation techniques.
• Document and communicate theft, safety, and alarm activity incidents.
