Job summary

Meijer in Grand Rapids is seeking a loss prevention/asset protection team member to maintain safety and protect merchandise. You will be visible at entrances, engage with customers, and act quickly to resolve safety concerns.

The role requires high school diploma, 1-2 years in customer service or asset protection, and strong communication. You will use store technologies to document incidents and collaborate with team to de-escalate conflicts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of customer service or asset protection experience.
• Clear and professional written and oral communication.
• Ability to move throughout work area for long periods.
• Ability to respond to alerts quickly and urgently.
• Ability to learn technology solutions and document incidents.
• Ability to de-escalate and negotiate.
• Knowledge of product locations to direct customers.
• Ability to work with conflict.

Responsibilities

• Actively identify and resolve unsafe conditions.
• Prevent theft through active presence and engagement.
• Respond to alerts to verify receipts, recover unpaid merchandise, and resolve alarms.
• Reduce store disruption using de-escalation techniques.
• Document and communicate theft, safety, and alarm activity.
