Job summary

Burlington Stores is hiring a Shortage Control Associate to help maintain a secure shopping environment while delivering excellent customer service. You will monitor store entrances and high‑risk areas, greet customers, and assist in preventing theft through vigilance and consistent procedures.

Ideal candidates have 1+ years in customer service or retail, can stand long periods, and are flexible for nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations preferred.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods and remain alert in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and a positive, professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Monitor store entrances, exits, and high-risk areas to deter theft.
• Greet customers with a warm, energetic welcome and enforce dress standards when applicable.
• Identify suspicious activity and report incidents to the Manager on Duty promptly.
• Assist in training associates on shortage reduction programs and store security procedures.
