Job summary

Burlington is seeking a Shortage Control Associate to help maintain a secure shopping environment while delivering excellent customer service. You will stand at store entrances to deter theft, greet customers with a warm smile, and support store leadership in shortage reduction programs.

You will engage with customers and associates, communicate theft prevention strategies, and report suspicious activity to the Manager on Duty.

Qualifications

• 1+ years in customer service, hospitality, retail, asset protection, loss prevention, or operations.
• Able to stand and walk for extended periods and monitor the store.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Analyze business trends.
• Positive demeanor, strong posture and energetic greeting.
• Work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with disciplined decision making.
• Excellent communication with customers and coworkers.
• Strong leadership to foster productive relationships.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Monitor store entrances and high-risk areas to reduce theft.
• Greet every customer entering or exiting with a warm, loud greeting.
• Identify and report theft incidents to the Manager on Duty.
• Participate in shortage reduction programs and training.
