Job summary

The Save Mart Companies is the region’s leading grocery retailer with 70+ years of service in California and Nevada, operating Save Mart, Lucky, and FoodMaxx stores. The Key Carrier Specialist directs front-end staff in the absence of the Assistant Center Store Manager, ensuring top-notch customer service, productivity, and compliance while maintaining front-end and parking lot conditions.

You will train front-end associates, oversee cash handling procedures, and strive to meet store standards

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Good training skills.
• Proven supervision and coordination capabilities.
• Solid counting and math skills.
• Ability to read and write to complete documentation accurately.
• Knowledge of front-end operations and check stand procedures.
• Familiarity with compliance and basic contract/work rules.

Responsibilities

• Provide customers with a remarkable shopping experience by training and holding associates accountable for excellent service.
• Manage front-end performance and productivity (tills, cash handling, checks, WIC/EBT compliance, receipt discounts, items per minute, front-end efficiency).
• Direct Clerks and Clerks’ Helpers focusing on accountability and business performance.
• Maintain front-end and parking lot conditions (merchandising, floors, cleanliness, carts, bags).
• Perform store balancing (bookkeeping) to enhance shopping experience.
• Oversee front-end management tasks (refunds/returns, loans/pick-ups, check authorizations).
• Monitor customer experience on the front-end and ensure coverage in absence of management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
