Job summary

Kroger in Denver is seeking a Front-End Department Supervisor to create an outstanding customer experience and maintain a safe, clean store environment. You will assist the department manager to reach sales and profit goals and supervise front-end staff.

In this role you will help manage budgets, labor scheduling, cash handling, and adherence to safety and quality standards while promoting teamwork and strong customer service.

Qualifications

• Handle stressful situations with composure.
• Effective communication skills in customer interactions.
• Knowledge of basic math for transactions and counting.
• Retail or customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome and valued by answering questions about products.
• Gain knowledge of products and respond to inquiries with suggestions.
• Monitor and control supply expenses for the department.
• Assist with cash handling, sales records and store cash items.
• Schedule Front-end associates to ensure adequate department coverage.
• Assist in budgeting, P&L reviews, and action on financial reports.
• Develop and implement department action plans.
• Collaborate with Front-end staff and promote teamwork.
• Adhere to safety procedures and maintain temperature logs where applicable.
• Report safety risks or issues and respond to customer and employee concerns.
• Support preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and coordinating repairs.
