Qualifications

• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Previous cashier or front-end experience is required.
• Flexible and able to adapt to changing needs during high volume.
• Ability to read and do simple math problems.
• Wants to be part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers and assisting cashiers.
• Open additional registers to minimize wait times during busy periods.
• Create and enforce front-end work schedules to meet demand.
• Assist with sales transactions (Accounts Receivable, Food Stamps, WIC, coupons, checks, gift cards).
• Process Western Union and Money Order transactions.
• Keep management informed of pricing issues and POS problems.
• Handle refunds, overrides, and cash handling requests as needed.
• Enforce dress code and monitor breaks per policy.
• Ensure perishables are stocked promptly and not eaten at registers.
