Job summary

Meijer is seeking a Service Coordinator to ensure a high-quality customer shopping experience by leading and supporting front-end operations. You will coordinate the checkout flow, maintain front-end cleanliness and standards, and assign work for cashiers, service desk, and courtesy team members to meet productivity and service expectations.

Qualifications

• Completion of the Service Coordinator training curriculum (includes curriculums for Cashier, Service Desk, and Courtesy Team).
• Ability to operate cash register system and all financial services equipment.
• Good communication skills, friendly, customer oriented, organized, detail oriented, sense of urgency.
• Has organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
• May require lifting and physical activity as part of shift duties.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with peer leadership for smooth handoff between shifts.
• Perform survival walk of the department and shift-to-shift hand-off when leadership not present.
• Coordinate and drive actions involving shrink and financial outcomes; escalate concerns as needed.
• Champion participation in community programs; engage team member resource groups.
• Serve as a certified trainer for team members in their span of care.
• Conduct on-the-job training and mentoring for team members.
• Act as SME for market programs, pilots, and training initiatives.
• Assign tasks to team members with leadership alignment and follow-up.
