Job summary

Food Lion in Lexington, NC is seeking a Self-Checkout Ambassador to ensure fast, friendly service at the front end. You will assist customers with self-checkout, guide usage, and uphold Food Lion’s customer service standards to drive a positive shopping experience.

As part of the Front End team, you’ll greet customers, operate the SCO system, handle questions, and maintain a neat, organized checkout area. The role requires basic HS education and good communication.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience
• Greet each customer and uses their name whenever possible
• Assist customers on how to use Self-checkouts properly including use of the hand scanner for a Fast and Easy checkout experience
• Respond timely to customer inquiries and self-checkout system notifications
• Monitor multiple self-checkouts for proper customer usage including the scanning of all items and the accurate scanning of each item
• Maintain alertness and call for assistance when needed to service customers per service standards
• Wear the Food Lion uniform, complete with name badge, when on duty, has a neat and clean appearance while adhering to Food Lion dress code
