Food Lion is seeking a Front End Associate to provide fast, friendly service and accurate checkout support. You will greet customers, assist with bagging, handle payments, and help maintain a clean, efficient front end in a fast-paced store environment.

The role emphasizes friendly, courteous interactions, adherence to cash handling procedures, and teamwork with store staff to ensure a positive shopping experience for every customer.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to perform the technical requirements of cashier and service centre.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and use his or her name whenever possible.
• Unload customers' groceries from cart to belt, group cold items together for bagging.
• Check the bottom of every cart and under all baby seats for items before completing an order.
• Follow correct bagging procedures for the relevant bags by type.
• Scan customers' orders and handle the payment transaction, per standard practice.
• Identify customers needing assistance and offer to take the customer’s order to their car.
• Maintain alertness and call for assistance to service customers per service standards.
• Check prices quickly and accurately.
• Wear the Food Lion uniform with apron and name badge when on duty.
