Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a Front End Associate to deliver fast, friendly service and ensure accurate cash handling, merchandising, and store cleanliness. You will greet customers, bag groceries, process payments, and assist with Go-To orders while maintaining high service standards.

The role emphasizes teamwork, courtesy, and adherence to Front End Standard Practice Manual to drive sales and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Effective communication and customer service skills
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job
• Ability to perform cashier and service center duties
• Must meet minimum age requirements and physical requirements

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers
• Greet each customer and use their name when possible
• Unload groceries from cart to belt and assist with bagging
• Scan items, handle payments, and follow standard cash procedures
• Follow procedures for refunds, cash handling, and overrides
• Maintain clean, neat front-end area and report maintenance issues
• Assist with Food Lion To-Go orders and cashier surge plan as needed
• Perform tasks of front-end management in supervisor absence
