Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies is hiring for a front-end associate to deliver excellent customer service and maintain a smooth checkout experience in a Wisconsin store. You will greet customers, assist with purchases, and help manage front-end operations to meet sales and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6 months related experience or training preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Good math skills (ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide).
• Sound judgement/decision making skills.
• Friendly, approachable/outgoing demeanor and team player.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Good oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and efficient customer service by being sincere, patient and respectful toward customers.
• Greet customers and assist them by guiding to products, loading heavy items and retrieving out-of-reach items.
• Anticipate customer needs and respond to questions to strengthen loyalty.
• Oversee front end operations to meet sales, profit and labor goals and ensure cleanliness and sanitation.
• Determine work priorities to maintain front end conditions.
• Ensure prompt, accurate checkout and adherence to policies and laws.
• Train and coach associates on front end procedures to reduce shrink and waste.
• Communicate pricing and signage discrepancies to the pricing coordinator.
• Provide back-up coverage for the service operations manager in their absence.
• Know checkout transactions policies and procedures and perform audits; handle voids and refunds.
• Operate scanners, registers, scales and other front-end equipment per standards.
• Assist with front-end tasks like stocking, bagging, cart collection and cleaning.
• Comply with food safety and safety regulations; report unsafe conditions or illegal activity.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
