Job summary

Kroger is seeking a store front-end associate to deliver outstanding customer service and maintain a welcoming shopping environment.

You will greet customers, assist with product location and checkout, and help manage front-end operations to meet sales and labor goals.

Ideal candidates balance friendliness with accuracy, can multitask in a fast-paced setting, and comply with safety and store policies; part-time roles are available across Wisconsin stores.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience.
• Effective interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Good math skills (ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide).
• Sound judgement/decision making skills.
• Friendly, approachable/outgoing demeanor; team player.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Good oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate teamwork to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant working and shopping environment.
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service by sincerity, patience and respect; thank customers for their business.
• Greet customers genuinely and assist by escorting to products, loading/unloading heavy items, and retrieving items.
• Anticipate customer needs and respond to questions to strengthen customer loyalty.
• Oversee front end operations to meet sales, profit and labor goals; ensure front end cleanliness and sanitation.
• Determine work priorities and task lists to maintain front end conditions.
• Ensure prompt, accurate customer checkout and front-end policy compliance.
• Train, monitor and coach associates on front end procedures; reduce shrink and waste.
• Communicate pricing discrepancies to the pricing coordinator.
• Provide back-up coverage for the service operations manager in their absence.
• Gain knowledge of checkout transactions, policies and bookkeeping.
• Operate equipment (scanner, register, scale, payment devices) per standards.
• Assist with front-end functions (checkout, stocking, bagging, cart collection).
• Comply with food safety and safety regulations; report unsafe conditions.
