Job summary

Food Lion in Blacksburg is seeking an entry-level Front End Associate to deliver fast, friendly service and support the Customer Service Manager. You will greet customers, handle basic cash register tasks, and help maintain a neat, efficient front end area.

The role requires good communication, a willingness to learn multiple tasks, and the ability to meet physical requirements for stocking and cashier duties. Training is provided to ensure we meet our service standards.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to perform the technical requirements of cashier and service center.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers.
• Greet each customer and use their name whenever possible.
• Maintain knowledge of office procedures including cash reports, deposits and related tasks.
• Ensure front end area is neat and presentation is maintained.
• Operate cash register and related equipment with accuracy and courtesy.
• Assist with store office functions and report variances to management.
• Perform duties as assigned per surge plan guidelines.
