Job summary

Food Lion in Midlothian, VA is seeking a friendly Front End Associate to deliver fast, accurate service at the register and in the store. You will greet customers, scan orders, handle payments, and support teammates to ensure a clean, efficient shopping experience.

As part of the front end team, you may assist with To-Go orders, bagging, and maintaining checkout areas, while following cash handling procedures and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience
• Greet each customer and use their name whenever possible
• Unload customers' groceries from cart to belt and group items for easy bagging
• Scan orders and handle the payment transaction per standard practice
• Follow procedures for refunds and error correction and maintain cash control
• Identify customers needing assistance and offer to take the customer's order to their car
• Maintain a neat and clean front end area and report any issues to management
• Assist with Food Lion To-Go orders when scheduled or needed
