Job summary

The Kroger store in South Jordan, UT is seeking team members for front-end operations to deliver exceptional customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, assisting with product locating, processing transactions, and maintaining front-end cleanliness and safety. Training and coaching of associates, adherence to policies, and collaboration with store leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6 months related experience or training or equivalent combination of education or experience.
• Effective interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Good math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide).
• Sound judgement and decision making.
• Friendly, approachable demeanor and team player mindset.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Good oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate teamwork to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant working and shopping environment.
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service by showing sincerity, patience and respect in all customer interactions.
• Greet customers and assist them by escorting to products, loading/unloading heavy items and retrieving items.
• Anticipate customer needs and resolve issues to strengthen customer loyalty.
• Oversee front end operations to meet or exceed sales, profit and labor goals with cost control and shrink reduction.
• Ensure prompt, accurate customer check-out and adherence to policies and laws.
• Train and coach associates on front end policies, product handling, tender, coupons, scans, and price checks.
• Communicate pricing discrepancies to the pricing coordinator.
• Provide back-up coverage for the service operations manager in their absence.
• Maintain knowledge of checkout transactions, operations and bookkeeping tasks.
