Job summary

Kroger in South Jordan, UT is seeking a Cashier/Checker to welcome customers, accurately process transactions, and maintain a safe, clean store environment. You will use the POS system to handle cash, checks, and electronic payments while following company policies for restricted items and loss prevention.

We value friendly service, the ability to answer questions about products, and staying current with promotions.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers in-store.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
• Understand and operate the POS system; handle cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons and loyalty offers per policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention guidelines.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator and adhere to store policies.
• Stay current with ads and promotions; maintain food safety and store safety procedures.
• Assist with preventive maintenance and report unsafe conditions to management.
• Provide product information and assistance to customers to create a welcoming environment.
