Job summary

SpartanNash is seeking a cashier at our Fargo, ND location to operate the register and assist customers with courteous service. You will itemize purchases, process payments, bag items, and support front-end operations in a fast-paced retail setting.

Ideal candidates bring basic math, good communication, and customer-service skills. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, with retail experience a plus; shifts include 2pm–12:30am.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of prior retail or related experience preferred.
• Good verbal communication skills; ability to interact politely with customers.
• Good customer service and organizational skills; detail-oriented.
• Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases.
• Process financial transactions accurately (cash, checks, cards, coupons, etc.).
• Weigh and bag customer purchases and maintain a clean, stocked front-end.
• Explain store programs, promotions, and loyalty benefits to customers.
• Follow PPE, safety, and food-safety guidelines; assist with stocking as needed.
