Job summary

SpartanNash is seeking a friendly in-store cashier to provide courteous guest service, handle cash transactions, and assist customers with self-checkout at our Bismarck location. You will participate in daily store operations and help maintain a clean, well-stocked department.

The role requires good communication, basic arithmetic, and a customer-first attitude; prior retail experience is preferred. This position is on-site with standard store hours and a focus on the guest experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (required).
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.
• Good verbal communication skills; ability to interact politely and effectively with customers.
• Good customer service and organizational skills; detail-oriented.
• Good reading, writing and arithmetic skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous guest service in person or by telephone; answer incoming calls and direct to the appropriate department.
• Process transactions including credits, refunds, and store coupons in accordance with company policies.
• Operate cash register and assist guests with self-checkouts for a variety of products.
• Maintain knowledge of store programs and product locations; ensure accuracy of pricing.
• Follow all PPE, safety, and food safety guidelines; keep department clean and well-stocked.
• Communicate promotions and in-store specials to customers and support a high standard of service.
