Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a customer-focused Associate at our Lawrenceburg, KY store. You will assist customers, handle cashier duties, and help maintain a clean, efficient checkstand.

Responsibilities include processing sales, returns, money handling, and promoting store initiatives while upholding our values of respect, honesty and safety. Weekend availability and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (or relevant education/experience).
• Six months cashier experience.
• Must be 18 years old (19 in certain jurisdictions) to sell tobacco.
• Ability to pass drug test.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work weekends, various shifts and overtime as needed.
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks/projects.
• Knowledge of company policies, procedures, and structure.
• Related retail experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service and assist customers.
• Perform cashier functions: open/close register, ring sales, complete tender transactions, bag merchandise, handle money drops.
• Maintain cleanliness of checkstand area to policy.
• Answer telephones and process refunds, exchanges, money orders, and gifts cards.
• Verify EAS tags are deactivated/removed at point of sale.
• Respond to EAS activations and tag removal as needed.
• Maintain store accounting functions and bank deposits.
• Open/close customer service desk; process refunds, exchanges, money orders, and transfers.
• Provide lottery service and fish/game licenses.
• Send/receive faxes; administer lost and found.
• Work cooperatively in high-paced, sometimes stressful environments.
• Handle conflicts professionally and honestly.
