Job summary

Kroger in Lexington, VA is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented associate to assist customers, process sales, and uphold the company’s core values during every shift. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or combination of relevant education and experience.
• Six months cashier experience to work at Customer Service Desk.
• Minimum 18 years of age/19 where required by state law to sell tobacco.
• Ability to pass drug test.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work weekends regularly, and overtime as needed.
• Ability to organize/prioritize tasks/projects.
• Knowledge of company policies, procedures, and organizational structure.
• Related retail experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service.
• Perform cashier functions, including open/close register, ring sales, complete tender transactions, bag merchandise.
• Maintain cleanliness of checkstand area to housekeeping standards.
• Answer telephones and comply with all corporate policies.
• Process refunds, exchanges, money orders and transfers, bill pay, gift cards, purchase orders, equipment rentals.
• Provide lottery service and other store services.
• Open and close the customer service desk.
• Manage and respond to Electronic Article Surveillance tag deactivations/removals as needed.
• Respond to AED pedestal activations and verify tag removal as necessary.
