Job summary

Safeway is seeking a Front-End Team Member to provide a smooth checkout experience, help customers complete purchases, and keep the front-end area organized and efficient. You will rotate between cashier duties, bagging, and replenishment while staying friendly and accurate in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates bring strong communication, basic math, and the ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Prior customer service is a plus.

Qualifications

• Customer-facing communication during checkout and assistance
• Accurate processing of purchases across cash, card, and digital payments
• Accurate scanning, pricing, and order completion
• Cash handling and balancing registers with basic math skills

Responsibilities

• Handle transactions at the front-end checkout area.
• Assist customers with questions and directions.
• Keep front-end area organized, clean, and stocked.
• Assist with bagging, cart retrieval, and general front-end upkeep.
• Adapt to changing tasks and customer flow throughout shifts.
