Job summary

Safeway is hiring for a Front-End Team Member to ensure a smooth and friendly checkout experience. You will process transactions, assist customers, and help keep the front-end area organized and stocked throughout the shift.

Ideal candidates bring basic math and communication skills and are able to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Prior customer service experience is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older (or 18+, depending on state requirements).
• Completion of cashier/front-end training upon hire.
• Basic math and communication skills required.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Prior customer service experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Handle transactions and aid customers at checkout.
• Keep front-end area organized, clean, and running smoothly throughout shift.
• Assist with bagging, cart retrieval, stocking and general front-end upkeep.
• Adapt to changing priorities and dynamic customer flow.
