Job summary

Kroger in Lansing, MI is seeking a customer service oriented associate to assist customers and process sales at the checkstand. You will demonstrate Kroger's values and support operations across the store desk and cash handling tasks.

Responsibilities include opening/closing the register, processing refunds, managing banking tasks, and maintaining a clean checkstand. The role requires weekend availability and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Six months cashier experience preferred for Customer Service Desk.
• Must be at least 18 years old (19 in some states for tobacco).
• Able to pass drug test.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Weekend, shift, and overtime availability expected.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers and process sales while upholding Kroger values.
• Deliver excellent customer service and support cashiers.
• Perform cashier duties: open/close register, ring sales, tender transactions, bagging, and apply produce codes.
• Maintain cleanliness of the checkstand area and log price discrepancies.
• Answer phones and adhere to company policies and initiatives.
• Ensure EAS tags are deactivated or removed at POS and respond to pedestal activations.
• Handle store accounting tasks and bank deposits as required.
• Open/close the Customer Service Desk and process refunds, exchanges, money orders, transfers, and bill pay.
• Provide lottery and fish & game licenses where applicable and manage lost and found.
