Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies in Davison, MI is seeking a friendly Cashier/Checker to greet customers, assist them, and process transactions at the checkout quickly and accurately.

You will operate the POS system, handle cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC and loyalty offers, follow loss-prevention policies, adhere to restricted-sale guidelines, and stay current with ads while upholding safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist with their needs in a friendly manner
• Process transactions quickly and accurately at the checkout using the POS system
• Handle tender types (cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons) per policy
• Follow cash handling and loss prevention guidelines to minimize shortages/overages
• Adhere to restrictions on sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs) and stay compliant with laws
• Stay updated on current ads and promotions and assist with pricing discrepancies when needed
• Maintain safety and cleanliness in the area and report hazards
• Provide excellent customer service to create a welcoming store environment
