Responsibilities

• Greet, engage, and assist customers
• Process transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane
• Understand POS system and handle tender types per policy
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention guidelines
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (alcohol, tobacco, DVDs)
• Report pricing discrepancies to Scan Coordinator
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
• Stay current with ads and promotions
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety guidelines
• Reinforce safety programs and identify unsafe conditions to management
• Inspect equipment and report needed repairs
• Answer questions to help customers find products and services
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment
• Manage conflicts calmly and professionally
• Maintain honesty and integrity with customer and business information
• Follow directions and seek assistance as needed
• Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations
