Job summary

Kroger in Midland, MI is seeking a friendly cashier/checker to greet and assist customers, process transactions accurately at the POS, and maintain a clean, safe store environment. You will follow company policies on cash handling, discounts, and restricted items while providing excellent service to drive repeat visits.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers at the checkout.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently.
• Understand the POS system and handle cash, checks, credit/debit, and loyalty offers per policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits, prevent loss and follow sale restrictions on certain items.
• Report pricing discrepancies and follow policies for stamps, gift cards and coupons.
• Stay current with ads, follow safety regulations, and maintain a clean environment.
• Assist with safety programs and equipment maintenance, and help others as needed.
• Provide friendly service and answer product questions to create a welcoming store atmosphere.
• Follow all laws and company guidelines, manage high-paced and stressful situations, and resolve issues cooperatively.
