Job summary

Responsibilities include ringing up purchases, handling refunds and exchanges, processing payments, and supporting store accounting functions. Flexibility for weekends and varying shifts is required, with a focus on honesty, safety, and good customer interactions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or combination of education and experience.
• Six months cashier experience to work at Customer Service Desk.
• Minimum 18 years of age; 19 where required for tobacco sales.
• Ability to pass drug test.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work weekends regularly, any shift, and overtime as needed.
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks/projects.
• Knowledge of company policies and procedures.
• Related retail experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service.
• Perform cashier functions: open/close register, ring sales, make tender transactions, bag merchandise, money drops, know produce codes.
• Maintain price discrepancy logs and checkstand cleanliness to standards.
• Answer telephones and comply with corporate policies.
• Promote and follow Kroger initiatives and deactivation/removal of EAS tags where needed.
• Manage store accounting functions and deposit excess funds as required.
• Open/close the customer service desk; process refunds, exchanges, money orders, transfers, bill pay, gift cards, and orders; provide lottery and licenses where allowed.
• Handle faxes, lost and found, and assist customers with tasks while remaining calm under pressure.
