Job summary

The University of Notre Dame is hiring a Front Desk Supervisor at the Morris Inn in the campus Hospitality department. The role balances supervisory duties with hands-on guest interactions, ensuring accurate check-ins/outs and high service quality across shifts.

As the primary mentor for Guest Service Associates, you will coordinate VIP arrivals and support the management team with front desk operations and SOP adherence, while upholding Notre Dame’s service standards.

Qualifications

• Capable of managing time effectively with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Ability to maintain a standing position for extended periods of time (up to 6 hours at a time).

Responsibilities

• Perform guest registration, room assignments and check-outs with accuracy and warmth.
• Manage guest billing, room changes, and service recovery in real-time.
• Monitor the lobby and front drive for efficient guest flow during peak times.
• Assist with parking and valet coordination during high-volume periods.
• Oversee training of all new GSAs and provide coaching for service skills.
• Update training checklists and ensure SOPs are followed at the desk.
• Assist the Room Operations Coordinator with VIP arrivals, room inspections and amenities.
• Be primary contact for VIPs when Managers are unavailable.
• Communicate guest preferences to relevant departments.
• Support desk administrative tasks like inventory, supplies, and shift reporting.
