HealthFitness is seeking a Front Desk Supervisor at Advocate Good Shepherd in Barrington, IL. This full-time role leads the front desk team, enhances member experiences, and ensures a welcoming environment with smooth check-in, payments, and inquiries.

You will supervise staff, handle payroll, support membership sales and events, and collaborate across departments to meet member needs in a wellness-focused setting.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED required.
• 1+ years of experience in accounting or office management.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications preferred but required within 30 days of hire.
• Comfort using computers and learning POS and member management software.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and solve problems with limited supervision.
• Multi-tasking and attention to detail are essential.
• Flu vaccination required during the Fall season.

Responsibilities

Schedule

• 30 hours per week
• Tuesday: 2:00pm-9:00pm
• Wednesday-Friday: 3:00pm-9:00pm
• Saturday: 2:00pm-6:00pm
• Must be flexible and available to provide coverage as needed.

Responsible for overseeing daily front desk operations and ensuring an exceptional member and guest experience. Leads the front desk team, maintains high service standards, supports membership processes, and serves as a key point of contact for member inquiries and issue resolution. Vital in creating a welcoming, organized, and professional environment that reflects the facilities values.

Key Accountabilities

• Supervise, train, and schedule front desk staff and back of house staff to ensure appropriate coverage. Conduct onboarding, ongoing training, and performance feedback. Coach team members on customer service standards, policies, and procedures. Communicate important updates, promotions, and operational changes.
• Oversee daily front desk operations, including check-in procedures and guest protocols. Maintain front desk area cleanliness, organization, and professionalism. Manages, reviews, and submits bi-weekly payroll for the front desk team.
• Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment. Enforce club policies and safety procedures consistently.
• Greeting members and guests warmly and professionally as well as addressing member questions, concerns, and complaints promptly and effectively.
• Always ensure consistent delivery of high-quality service. Ensure accuracy in membership records, payments, and transactions.
• Support member retention through relationship-building and proactive service. Assist with membership sales support, promotions, and special events.
• Collaborate with fitness, locker room, and other departments to support member needs.
• Support Kids club with coverage and staffing needs.
• Other duties as needed/assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• HS Diploma/GED.
• 1+ years of experience in accounting or office management.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications are preferred but will be required within 30 days of hire, can provide training in house.
• Must be comfortable using computers and willing and able to learn point of sale and member management software.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Active listing skills and ability to relate to and provide service to individuals of different backgrounds.
• Ability to work independently, problem solve and make decisions with limited supervision.
• Strong quality orientation including attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness.
• Strong skills in multi-tasking and the ability to remain calm and professional while completing multiple tasks at once.
• Flu vaccination required during the Fall season.

The compensation range for this role is $20.00- $24.00 per hour. The final wage offer will be determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, skill set, and other relevant factors.
