Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1 year of customer service experience in a health care office is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes patients and visitors by greeting them in person or on the phone.
• Notes patient arrival in the Practice Management System (EMR).
• Identifies patients by DOB and name in the system and creates new accounts as needed.
• Prepares necessary paperwork prior to appointments.
• Reschedules No Show appointments and notifies patients as needed.
• Schedules appointments to optimize patient satisfaction and clinic flow.
• Assists in emergencies and triages patient concerns.
• Maintains accurate patient information in the EMR.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and notifies Billing if prior authorization is needed.
• Keeps the reception area clean and organized.
• Collects copays and balances at check-in/out.
• Protects patient confidentiality and privacy.
• Follows policies and reports changes as needed.
• Demonstrates superior customer service to patients and providers.
