Job summary

Alchemy Tattoo Collective in St. Louis is seeking a hands-on front desk and marketing assistant to keep the shop organized, welcoming, and online active. This part-time role involves interacting with clients, scheduling, payments, and maintaining shop records.

You will photograph and film tattoos, create Instagram Reels and Stories, write captions, and help promote artists and shop events. Weekend availability is required Friday through Sunday.

Qualifications

Location: St. Louis, MO Central West End

Pay: $17-$20 per hour, depending on experience

Schedule: Part-time, approximately 20-25 hours per week. Weekend availability is required, with primary coverage needed Friday through Sunday. Additional administrative hours may become available.

Position Overview

This is a hands-on front desk and marketing position. We need someone who is comfortable interacting with clients, staying organized, maintaining a clean shop, and consistently creating social media content.

This is not a position where social media is an occasional extra task. Taking photos and videos, creating Reels and Stories, and helping promote our artists is an important part of the job.

Responsibilities

Customer Service & Front Desk

• Greet clients and help create a welcoming environment
• Assist with scheduling, client check-in and checkout
• Answer phone calls, emails, and social media messages
• Process payments and assist with basic cash drawer procedures
• Make sure required client paperwork is completed
• Help coordinate walk-ins and communicate with artists
• Maintain organized client and shop records

Social Media & Marketing

• Regularly photograph and film artists, tattoos, studio activity, and available designs
• Create and post Instagram Reels, Stories, photos, and other short-form content
• Write captions and help maintain a consistent posting schedule
• Promote artists, walk-in availability, events, specials, and shop updates
• Stay aware of current social media trends and content formats
• Respond professionally to comments and messages
• Assist with basic marketing and promotional projects

Administrative Support

• Maintain spreadsheets, files, and shop records
• Assist with inventory and supply tracking
• Complete assigned administrative projects during slower front desk periods
• Help keep daily shop operations organized and documented

Cleaning & Shop Maintenance

• Perform regular cleaning throughout each shift
• Sweep and mop floors
• Clean bathrooms and communal areas
• Disinfect surfaces and maintain front desk cleanliness
• Empty trash and restock supplies
• Help ensure client and artist areas remain clean and organized
• Follow shop hygiene and cross-contamination procedures

Qualifications

• Reliable and able to consistently work scheduled weekend shifts
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Comfortable approaching and interacting with both clients and artists
• Comfortable taking photos and videos throughout the workday
• Experience creating social media content, especially Instagram Reels, Stories, TikTok, or similar short-form video
• Familiarity with Canva or other basic content-creation tools is helpful
• Organized and able to manage multiple responsibilities without constant supervision
• Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, reception, or administrative work is helpful
• Interest in tattooing or creative industries is welcome but not required

This position is best suited for someone who is genuinely interested in customer service, organization, social media, and working in a creative studio environment. We are looking for someone who wants to contribute to the shop in this role and become a reliable part of the team.
