Job summary

Harvard Protection Services is seeking a Customer Service Officer to support our security and life safety services. The role focuses on professionalism, customer-focused interactions, and protecting people and property we serve.

The position emphasizes a visible security presence, guest assistance, and adherence to established policies, with opportunities for growth and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• State or municipality security officer licenses required.
• Minimum High School Diploma, GED or the equivalent.
• Reliable means of communication and transportation.
• Must have a security guard license or be able to obtain one within an acceptable period.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and friendly, professional demeanor.
• Neat and professional appearance.
• Computer skills and ability to operate security/communication devices.
• Write routine log entries and incident reports.
• Previous contract security, law enforcement, military, or customer service experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional demeanor while aiding customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
• Maintain a visible presence in the facility / building assigned.
• Monitor the environment and detect suspicious/unsafe activity.
• Familiarize with incoming/outgoing traffic and known individuals.
• Greet customers and guests professionally.
• Answer questions and assist guests and employees.
• Answer all phones professionally.
• Permit authorized persons to enter and monitor entrances/exits.
• Know and enforce facility policies and procedures.
• Perform patrols on foot or by vehicle.
• Observe departing personnel to protect property and ensure authorized removal.
• Follow emergency action plans and procedures.
• Monitor alarms and systems as required.
• Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
