Job summary

Harvard Protection Services is seeking a Security Officer to deliver professional customer-focused security and life safety services at client sites. The role emphasizes a strong presence, excellent communication, and adherence to policy to maintain a safe environment.

Responsibilities include patrolling, monitoring alarms, documenting incidents, and assisting guests and staff with a courteous, professional demeanor. A valid security license and reliable transport are required.

Qualifications

• Must hold state or municipal security officer licenses.
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Must possess a security guard license or be able to obtain one within a reasonable period.
• Must have reliable means of communication and transportation.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and neat, professional appearance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain professional demeanor while aiding customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
• Maintain a visible presence in the assigned facility/building.
• Monitor environment to detect suspicious or unsafe activity.
• Familiarize with incoming/outgoing traffic, know customers, tenants, visitors, and guests.
• Greet customers, visitors, staff, tenants, and guests professionally at all times.
• Answer all phones professionally.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances/exits.
• Enforce facility policies within the role's limits.
• Perform patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
• Observe departing personnel to prevent theft and ensure proper removal of property.
• Follow emergency action plans and procedures.
• Monitor alarms and systems.
• Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
